Beehive Systems recently showcased it's portable newsgathering
product vidlinkMOBILE at the Intel Developer Forum (IDF) in
San Francisco.
Technology industry's premier event for hardware and software
developers worldwide- IDF exhibits products for PCs, servers, communications
equipment and handheld clients, say a company release.
According to a spokesperson of Beehive, "The vidlinkMOBILE
system was selected specifically for its advanced compression technology,
which complements the wireless capabilities of Intel® Centrino
mobile technology. IDF highlighted how the coming-together of respective
technologies enables news journalists in remotest of locations to
travel light and transmit file-based content to the studio in record
time and in a cost-effective manner.
South Asia, Intel Technology, director-sales and marketing, Amar
Babu offered that the new architectural design of vidlinkMOBILE
enables Intel Centrino mobile technology to deliver a higher level
of performance, longer battery life and wireless connectivity, says
the release.
The newsgathering solution allows broadcasters to capture and transmit
breaking news directly from the field in superior quality video
over bandwidth as low as 64kbps, using internet connections, satellite
phones or ISDN links. It compresses digital video clips into compact
files, using an advanced video codec as the compression standard
for faster transmission of superior video, says the release.
