NextGen Media Alliance (NGMA) - an end-to-end DRM solutions company
has announced a tie-up with convergent broadband solutions provider
Spectranet.
Through the arrangement Spectranet will offer complete backend
solutions and support for providing audio-visual (AV) Digital Rights
Management (DRM) based content to various mobile operators across
the country. NGMA has also recently announced its tie-up with the
leading mobile service operator Escotel. As a result of this tie-up
NGMA offers complete technical support for DRM enabled SMS based
content to Escotel.
A company release states that Spectranet's alliance with NGMA helps
extend Broadband Content Services to customers worldwide. DRM as
a concept is a revolution that enables content providers to be compensated
in a secure, transparent and fair manner. It will change the way
content is purchased. Spectranet has stated that it feels that NGMA
is best placed to offer DRM enabled services to all the service
operators in an effective and reliable way.
Mgma claims that its concept of DRM enabled content delivery has
been received very well by both the entertainment industry and the
user. By partnering with Spectranet it has found the missing link
of the DRM content value chain. Spectranet has successfully delivered
and provided valuable high quality infrastructural support for NGMA.
The company added that it found Spectranet's OFC based connectivity
and Tier3 Data Center along with a technically proficient and fast
reacting customer focused team, as the best in the market.
The concept of DRM is just evolving in India. It aims at safeguarding
the interests of the originators of creative content by using state-of-the-art
technology and through the execution of well-planned strategies.
DRM can effectively carry out all functions that shall enable rights
managed digital contents to be safely and securely transmitted and
delivered to various end user environments adds the release.
This involves digitising the content that it receives and encrypting
it with codes that shall allow only authenticated access by a user
once he has obtained a license by having paid a minimal amount for
the same. This ensures safeguarding of the digital rights of the
content provider.
