| With the purchase of a Snell & Wilcox Alchemist
Platinum Ph.C, London's Stanley Productions has added what its owner
calls "top of the market" standards conversion to the vast
range of services and products it offers clients.
Stanley is using the Alchemist Platinum Ph.C motion compensated
standards converter to provide a full range of high-end standards
conversion services, including all formats of SD to all formats
of SD and HD. HD conversions are done exclusively using the Alchemist
Platinum.
"We're seeing greater demand from our customers for HD work,
and have equipped our facility to handle all of the HD formats,"
said Stanley Productions owner and founder Stanley Aarons. "For
HD standards conversion, we selected Alchemist Platinum since as
far as we're concerned it's the top converter on the market."
A long-time Snell & Wilcox customer, Stanley Productions has
had a Central London presence for more than 30 years, offering both
duplication and standards conversion services as well as an array
of audio and video equipment that ranges from the hardest-to-find
recording media to video recorders, monitors, cameras, and edit
controllers.
To date, Stanley has used the Alchemist Platinum for HD standards
conversion projects in markets including high-end feature films,
episodic television, and concert videos. The converter is specified
with options to enhance its capabilities with multiple types of
material, such as Clean Cut 2 to eliminate smearing across scene
changes plus P-Film and Video to Film for superior performance in
handling film and mixed media.
"We do conversions from high-def to Digibeta and DVcam, and
Alchemist Platinum has been very useful in cases where it's necessary
to change the frame rate," Aarons said. "The Alchemist's
ability to do this automatically is especially handy in animation
projects, and we've seen it used in some corporate productions as
well."
The Alchemist Platinum Ph.C uses Snell & Wilcox's proprietary
Ph.C (phase correlation) motion compensation technology to ensure
the most precise motion processing possible. The latest of six generations
of Ph.C converters developed by Snell & Wilcox, the Alchemist
Platinum Ph.C represents the culmination of 15 years of continuous
R&D efforts and improvements in motion-compensated conversion.
Among the first facilities in London to go HD with Alchemist Platinum
Ph.C, Stanley offers these conversions by name on its Web site.
"Alchemist Platinum is top of the market for standards conversion,
and we want our customers to be aware of it. We offer more than
one system for conversion, but if a customer wants top quality and
the best results, they need to ask for the Platinum," Aarons
said.
