Birlasoft to get SEI CMMISM appraisal

Birlasoft becomes the first Indian IT services company to be appraised at SEI CMMISM level five on continuous representation.

The announcement made on Friday 16 April says that it has become the first Indian IT services company to be assessed at the highest level of maturity at level five on CMMI continuous representation in the SW version 1.1 of the Software Engineering Institute, according to a press release.

With this appraisal, Birlasoft stands amongst the first five IT services companies globally who have received this prestigious recognition based on results published at SEI website.

The flagship company of C.K. Birla Group received this recognition on the chosen profile of technical solution and verification at capability level five and requirements development at capability level four using the stringent standard CMMI appraisal method for process improvement, SCAMPI, developed by USA based Carnegie Mellon University's Software Engineering Institute.

The appraisal further establishes Birlasoft's strong focus on software engineering processes and capabilities.

The SEI evaluates software processes for development, re-engineering, testing and maintenance across enterprises. This new appraisal highlights Birlasoft' s ability to achieve its internal goals on delivery, quality, profitability and customer satisfaction with high levels of efficiency and also ensures its capability of providing quality solutions for its customers on time and within budget.
