Leitch Technology has announced it will set a new standard in newsroom and transmission applications in the US. The company issued a release stating that its new Nexio server platform makes its US debut. With the introduction of the Nexio MTS MPEG transport stream server, Nexio Trimstation and the Newsflash Preditor Leitch is set to come out with a full range of newsroom and transmission applications.

The release adds that the Nexio MTS MPEG transport stream server supports multiple compression formats in both standard and high-definition resolution. The Nexio Trimstation is a software application used for trimming MPEG content. NewsFlash Preditor is a best-in-class low-resolution browse and edit solution that shares a common interface with the high-resolution Nexio NewsFlash editor.

Leitch is also coming out with its end-to-end Nexio newsroom solution. The company claims that this is the fastest newsroom in the world. It integrates, ingests, browses, edits and runs down applications in an operation's newsroom computer system and provides users with instant access to all content, all the time, without restrictions.

The company added that its newsroom enables feeds to ingest automatically. Journalists browse and edit at their workstations and play-to-air begins three seconds after leads start recording. The 33 year old Leitch Technology designs and distributes high-performance video systems for the professional television industry. Leitch offers extensible products and interoperable systems enabling operations of any size to achieve a truly integrated content environment.
