Vela, the Emmy award-winning provider of video compression products
for the cable and broadcast industries has announced the launch
of its CineView HD LE decoder.
An official release informs that the CineView HD LE is a PCI based
MPEG-2 high definition decoder and is Vela’s newest addition to
the high definition family of products. Vela will also be showing
its CineCast HD, a SCSI-based 4:2:0 high definition decoder. Combined,
the Vela HD family of products provides both broadcast and professional
quality high definition decoding.
The new CineView HD LE is Vela’s new entry level model of high
definition decoders and is ideal for the professional market. Enabling
frame-accurate playback of 4:2:0 video in both HD and SD profiles,
this new decoder gives operators the flexibility they need as they
transition to HDTV. The HD LE supports data rates up to 80 Mbps,
depending on stream type and system configuration, and is built
on a compact ¾ length form factor, the release adds.
The company has stated that the CineCast HD decoder is an excellent
DTV and HDTV solution for digital video archiving, post-production,
advertising, kiosks, mapping and geographic information systems,
electronic cinema and other video distribution/display applications.
The CineCast HD is available as HD/1 single and HD/2 dual channel
models and can be integrated within a space-saving 1-RU chassis.
The company has said that broadcasters will want to take advantage
of the high performance features like genlock input, SDI, AES and
balanced audio that are supported in the CineCast HD. Professional
operators will appreciate the CineView HD LE for its price effectiveness,
ease of deployment and standard quality features like frame-accurate
decoding, LTC output, VTR machine control and trick modes. Vela
claims that its high definition solution fits everyones decoding
needs.
