Eenadu group's ETV network of 11 channels will now
be buttressed by an IT infrastructure based on Intel Pentium 4 processor
2.40 GHz with Hyper-Threading1 technology-based PCs. ETV India has
tied up with HCL Infosystems for upgrading its desktop networks to
include 350 Intel-based high performance computers.
Desktop networks are used extensively for production and post-production
activities in television software companies. This upgradation move
by ETV comes as a strategic initiative to provide maximum value to
its audience in terms of high quality output and efficient deployment
of the latest technology. According to a company release, the 350
high-calibre machines form a part of the larger phased plan to upgrade
the entire IT infrastructure in ETV.
"Driving growth in the new economy requires media players
like us to leverage the best available technology. Through this
deployment, ETV hopes to increase the efficiency of production activities,
including editing, and thereby establishing the channel as a lead
user of future-proof technologies in this sector," says ETV
Network General Manager K. Bapineedu.
