LOUISVILLE: Broadband industry’s premiere technology showcase CableNET, has announced its list of about 45 broadband demonstrations in this year’s exhibit, including 14 in its interactive centerpiece.

The exhibit is part of The Western Show at the Anaheim Convention Center, Colorado, between 2 and 5 December. A company release states that among the demonstrations at The Western Show, are more than a dozen exhibits of interactive technology, including an end-to-end display of OpenCable Application Platform (OCAP) technology from Advanced Digital Broadcast, Inc.

Other highlights include a whole house video and multimedia distribution system from Entropic Communications and a PacketCable-qualified call management server from Syndeo Corp. In addition, Go2BroadbandSM, in conjunction with the Cable and Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM), will be demonstrating the consumer website used to support the cable industry’s latest service offerings.

The theme of this year’s original CableNET exhibit is Imagine That, and it will include displays of true broadband services and examples of how the evolving broadband technology has expanded to include more business-to-business solutions that keep cable services innovative and competitive, the release states. The entire CableNET '03 exhibit will cover about 10,000 square feet on the Anaheim Convention Center show floor.

CableLabs president and CEO Dr Richard R Green was quoted in the release as saying, “This year’s CableNET continues our tradition of having a powerful demonstration of cable’s broadband might at The Western Show. We have worked hard to make this year’s demonstration the best ever.”

The CableNET exhibits have been co-sponsored by the California Cable and Telecommunications Association (CCTA) and Cable Television Laboratories as educational forums.

CableLabs, DOCSIS, CableHome, PacketCable, OpenCable, OCAP, CableCARD and CableNET are trademarks of Cable Television Laboratories. Go2Broadband(SM) is a service mark of CableLabs.
