SurfControl Internet filtering integrated into MSN TV

SurfControl, which claims to be the world's number one Web and e-mail filtering company, has announced that Bill Gates' Microsoft has extended its multi-year licensing agreement to integrate SurfControl's Internet content filtering services into the MSN TV service. MSN TV service is a leading provider of Internet service on television.

In addition to providing filtering technology to MSN TV, SurfControl also provides filtering for the advanced parental controls in MSN 8..

An official release informs that the use of SurfControl filtering technology means MSN TV service can offer family-friendly programming to subscribers. SurfControl's Internet content filtering gives parents the ability to restrict children's access to inappropriate online content, such as Web site content on hate, drugs/alcohol, pornography, weapons, violence and gambling.

SurfControl has provided filtering solutions for MSN TV service subscribers since 1996. VWB's new MediaReady Internet/DVD Player will also be available as a private-label version that will support a variety of OEM-defined configurations.
