The world's first high-definition television (HDTV) personal video
recorder (PVR) has been unveiled at Starpower's bi-annual "High
Definition Expo-Spring 2003" in Dallas. The HD PVR was introduced
by Zenith Electronics Corporation.
Starpower, the custom home theater retailer and installer, along
with Zenith, the key developer of the HDTV broadcast standard and
the industry's "high-definition authority", showcased the Zenith
HDR230 receiver/personal video recorder
An official release states that the HDR230 combines Zenith's latest-generation
ATSC terrestrial tuner with an 80-gigabyte hard disc recorder allowing

has many advanced digital and programming features and will be available
in the May time frame at a suggested price of US $999.
The product brings hard-disc recording to HDTV set-top boxes for

In addition to the new Zenith HD PVR, Starpower demonstrated a
US $75,000 movie theater quality CRT video projector, one-of- a-kind
US $36,000 plus pair of XA reference speakers, and six separate
