Motorola, Inc. Broadband Communications Sector, leader in wireless,
automotive and broadband communications, has announced that the
Euro-DOCSIS Certification Board has recognised the Motorola BSR64000
Broadband Services Router in its latest Euro-DOCSIS Certification
Wave 11, based on testing executed by ComLabs.
A press release says that adding to the companys list of
accomplishments, this product recognition brings Motorolas
industry-leading total for Euro-DOCSIS certification or qualification
to 17.
The Motorola BSR64000 CMTS/edge router received qualification for
use in Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 systems. In ECW11, Motorola also received
an additional cable modem Euro-DOCSIS certification, with its SB5100E.
Motorola is proud to again be recognized by the Euro-DOCSIS
Certification Board. The Motorola BSR64000 is an important building
block in delivering Motorolas connected home strategy
to Europe and other regions of the world. With its qualification,
operators can be assured that it is fully interoperable with other
Euro-DOCSIS devices. Further, we are delighted that Motorolas
new, fourth-generation cable modem has already joined its predecessors
in achieving Euro-DOCSIS recognition, said Motorola Broadband
Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) - vice president and
general manager Paul King.
The release adds that the carrier-class Motorola BSR64000 CMTS/edge
router allows broadband providers to rapidly introduce reliable
data, voice and multimedia services for both corporate and residential
subscribers, as well as deliver QoS levels end-to-end from the network
edge to the network core.
It claims that the high-density design - based on centralised routing
and distributed filtering and forwarding - provides the benefits
of simple and scalable performance. The BSR64000 is DOCSIS®
1.1, PacketCable 1.0, and Euro-DOCSIS 1.1 qualified. The Motorola
SB5100E cable modem is 25 per cent more compact than its predecessors,
is based on the Euro-DOCSIS 2.0 standard, and provides a tripled
upstream capacity of 30Mbps on supported cable systems.
The Motorola Broadband Communications Sector provides a scalable,
integrated end-to-end system for the delivery of broadband services
that keeps consumers informed, entertained and connected. Its technology
enables network operators and retailers to create and execute on
new business opportunities by providing innovative products and
services to the home.
