KVH Industries will unveil an ultra-low profile TracVision satellite TV antenna on 9 January at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Nevada.

The four and half inch high TracVision A5 in-motion satellite TV system uses breakthrough phased array antenna technology. The antenna can transmit movies, sports and news programmes to sport utility vehicles, mini vans, and luxury automobiles equipped with backseat entertainment systems.

TracVision is a fusion of two consumer entertainment products, digital satellite TV service and backseat entertainment systems. Travelers, with help of tracVision, will be able view 300+ channels of DirecTV(R) while cruising along the road. In addition, DirecTV subscribers will also receive 50+ channels of commercial free music at no additional cost.

TracVision, a product of two years of research and development, will be expandable in the future to provide access to high-speed Internet via satellite.

KVH's system will be marketed to current DirecTV subscribers, and sold through consumer electronics retailers. The antenna system will cost roughly $2,000 to $2,500, and the satellite programming will be less than $10 a month.

Members of the media and interested parties are invited to see the TracVision system for themselves at Booth #4255 in the CES Mobile Electronics Pavilion. The company representatives will be present to answer questions.
