Richardson Electronics, a global provider of engineered solutions for RF and wireless communications and broadcast products has announced the addition of a new playout system from Syntax Media, a leading supplier in the integrated non-linear editing (NLE) and custom software market. Broadcast Richardson, a division of Richardson Electronics, will carry Syntax's new DCP-5000 playout
system.

The DCP-5000 playout system is Syntax's one-step digital playout system and allows the broadcast of videos in real time or by scheduled playout. The product, which is a powerful alternative to cumbersome industry standard tape decks, is designed primarily for broadcast news production. It features a built-in editing system, which is a convenient feature for many television broadcast operations and media departments.

The patent-pending designs of the DCP-5000, coupled with exclusive custom- designed software, facilitate the broadcast of videos from both a manual and automatic perspective. With the DCP-5000, Syntax Media achieved its goal to simplify playout capabilities into one affordable system. Syntax Media offers two versions of the DCP application: the standard 5000 NLE system, which includes an exclusive audio editing software; and the DCP 2000, which features the hardware system only. Both models are distributed exclusively by Broadcast Richardson.

Syntax Media serves the broadcast market and corporate media. It counts television stations, Fortune 500 firms, higher education institutions and small-business enterprises among its clients. As a key supplier of integrated NLE systems and custom software
systems, Syntax Media's products are distributed exclusively by Broadcast Richardson, an experienced worldwide broadcasting distribution company.
