Acterna, the world's leading provider of cable network test and
management solutions recently released latest Version 1.2 firmware
for the Acterna DSAM-2500 Digital Service Activation Meter.
This firmware release incorporates optional WorkForce Automation
(WFA) functionality into the DSAM-2500 and debuts the new Acterna
TechSync family of workforce automation solutions.
The award-winning DSAM-2500 is a lightweight, durable, handheld
meter that provides extensive analog and digital signal analysis
capabilities. By adding the optional WFA browser, it is transformed
into a multifunctional device that not only tests advanced services
but also serves as a mobile communications unit, states a release.
The WFA browser option allows network operators to integrate unlimited
applications in an interactive environment for technicians. Operators
may control the sites that are accessed in order to determine which
information is available on each technician's meter. A local browser
is also included in the option enabling technicians to view information
offline for in-depth analysis.
"The DSAM v 1.2 enables cable operators to make great strides toward
achieving two key business initiatives - reducing costs and increasing
subscriber satisfaction," Acterna's Cable Network v-p marketing
is quoted as saying in the release.
The recently released TechSync tool called Acterna FDM-100 Field
Data Management software supports the DSAM-2500. FDM-100 v 1.0 allows
the technician to view test files in an elegant graphical user interface
and archive files according to DSAM work folder structure. Additionally,
users can deploy test results to work folders as well as deploying
selected work folders to specific instruments.
Acterna is the world's largest provider of test and management
