Media 100 which claims to be a leading developer of advanced media systems has announced that Ireland's TG4 is the latest in a growing roster of worldwide broadcasters to purchase its 844/X, the award-winning editing and compositing system, for creating in-house promotions.

The state-run television station recently installed 844/X in its promotions department and is already leveraging the performance and quality of the 10-bit system to complete projects in record time. This not only means greater productivity but also greater freedom to experiment creatively with the work they produce.

TG4 evaluated a number of well-known editing and compositing systems and concluded that 844/X is the only future-proof solution available today. The broadcaster sees Media 100 very much as a long-term business partner, and 844/X as a system with a clear development path that will grow as business evolves.

844/X has enhanced the department's workflow, offering tight integration with their mainly QuickTime-based graphics department and resulting in a fast, fluid way of working. This integration enabled the system, which was installed in December, to be used on the entire promo line-up for the channel's Christmas schedule.

TG4 invests over $15 million annually in original Irish programming from the independent production sector in Ireland. This investment supports 350 posts in small private sector companies throughout the country.

Media 100 develops award-winning advanced media systems for content design, enabling creative professionals to design highly evocative effects-intensive work on a personal computer. Creative artists and content design teams around the world use Media 100's Emmy Award-winning solutions.
