Intraspect Software a leading provider of collaboration solutions

management and project management has announced that Nielsen Media
Research, the leading provider of television audience measurement
and related services worldwide, has realised notable return on investment
since implementing Intraspect's project delivery solution.
Using Intraspect, Nielsen Media Research has developed NLighten,
a collaboration solution that has improved employee productivity
and enabled teams to complete projects faster through the capture
of critical knowledge and best practices. Before implementing Intraspect
Nielsen's teams were overloaded with time intensive projects and
cumbersome training processes. These operational challenges led
the research organisation to evaluate technologies that would help
improve productivity and drive cost efficiencies.
Nielsen Media Research initially implemented NLighten in their
custom analysis department, which conducts custom research projects
for the media industry, to increase knowledge transfer within the
group and improve communication and coordination between analysts.
Additionally, this group leveraged Intraspect to reduce the time
senior staff spent training new employees on processes, content
and customer service. Based on the initial success of NLighten,
the deployment has now been expanded to include users among different
departments across the organisation including national production,
product development and client support services.
Nielsen needed a solution that would centralize information and
enable the teams to complete projects more effectively by capturing
and reusing relevant data, retaining knowledge typically lost through
attrition and reducing the time and cost to train new staff. Intraspect
was the only solution we found that could deliver all the elements
required in one offering.
The Intraspect solution creates a centralised knowledge resource
that includes previous projects, client deliverables, team correspondence
and industry expertise to enable key practices to be easily reused
by others within the organisation. Companies that deploy Intraspect
are able to complete critical projects faster by improving collaboration
among team members, increasing information sharing within the organization
and reducing the time required to bring new employees up to speed.
According to Nielsen Media Research, within the first six months
of their deployment, they were able to compress the average time
a new employee needed to achieve proficiency in their job, measured
by delivery of the first analyst report to a client, from 43 days
to 12 days - a savings of 73 per cent.
