VideoTele.com a division of Tut Systems has announced that the
XinHua News Agency has deployed more than 30 of its M2 video edge
devices to create a digital video delivery network across China.
VideoTele.com (VTc)'s M2s enable the delivery of real-time video
from Beijing's central news agency to people living throughout the
four million square miles that make up China. Operating 24/7, the
M2 video edge devices encode and transmit digital video for stable,
high quality two-way communications between each province and the
Beijing central office. As the first company to deliver broadcast-quality
video over fiber optic network, VTc's M2 Series was selected by
XinHua for its high quality resolution, reliability and cost-effectiveness.
To deliver XinHua's new expansive multimedia network, VideoTele.com
partnered with Delta Hi-Tech and China Telecom System Integration.
The video transmission system developed by the three partners leverages
the power of the M2's MPEG-2 encoding and decoding technology to
compress, deliver and receive high-quality digital video and audio
content.
XinHua's network combines video conferencing, video transmission,
IP and telephone applications and uses ATM connections to deliver
multiple applications over a single network infrastructure thereby
reducing capital and operating costs.
The alliance came about as XinHua News the premier news organisation
in all of China, required a bullet-proof system that guaranteed
the integrity of its transmission.
Tut Systems delivers industry leading content processing and distribution
products for deploying next-generation video and IP services over
broadband networks.
