Orca, which develops applications for broadband TV, has announced
the signing of an agreement, which gives Nokia the rights to resell
Orca's RighTv application suite to telecommunications operators
worldwide.
The Orca and Nokia end-to-end, triple play solution allows operators
to quickly enter the broadband TV market and efficiently deliver
enhanced video entertainment services over xDSL networks.
An official release informs that Orca's RighTv application suite
integrates with the Nokia D500 multiservice access platform to multicast
video content through operator networks. This allows multiple video
streams to be delivered to end-user TV as well as to PCs and Nokia's
wireless handsets. The delivery of video services to multiple devices
on broadband networks helps operators to generate additional revenues,
reduce customer churn and gain customer loyalty.
The release adds that the announcement further demonstrates how
Orca has broadened its popularity among leading access providers
as the partner of choice to bring a complete triple play of broadband
solutions to telecommunications service providers. Orca has stated
that it has managed to successfully integrated RiGHTv into Nokia
broadband services to provide a complete TV based solution including
support for mobile devices.
