Scientific-Atlanta has announced it has further expanded its relationship
with Itaas and the istart application developer programme to enhance
the content developers’ ability to deliver on-demand news and information
solutions for cable operators using the InView platform.
Cable ops can use the InView application to deliver a new information-on-demand
service, which offers fast access to valuable Web-based information
for consumers.
Itaas claims to be the premier provider of iTV services in the
US digital cable TV industry. The company serves MSOs, equipment
manufacturers, application developers, OS/middleware providers,
and content developers. Itaas’ end-to-end expertise with digital
networks, from set-top clients to headend servers.
An official release informs that application and content developers
who are interested in providing content to current or future InView
users can sign on to the Itaas istart developer programme at www.itaas.com.
When they join, they will receive a content developer kit with the
tools needed to develop walled garden applications.
Itaas has stated that since the InView solution delivers on-demand,
‘instant’ news and information to cable customers, it’s only fitting
that Scientific-Atlanta be able to provide InView content developers
with rapid access to the tools they need. Once again, developers
who need to provide applications that run reliably on Scientific-Atlanta’s
end-to-end network can rely on the company to provide the support,
service and tools they need.
