AMSTERDAM: Thales Broadcast and Multimedia will showcase its ThalesCrypt at this year's IBC. The event takes place in Amsterdam from 11-15 September. The DTV Security Service platform contains high-performance scramblers and protects against illegal access to the operator's contents.

Other products that will be on display include:

Thales UHF Ultimate / VHF Optimum Evolution: This is the companies fully integrated, compact transmitting system. Thales claims that the new cabinet (19-inch rack) now includes the entire transmitting system and its cooling devices. It enables broadcasters to include additional equipment in the cabinet for their convenience.

Video and multimedia services over broadband networks: Thales will introduce its new turnkey Broadband Service Platform to deliver television programmes, video-on-demand and other associated interactive services over DSL. The company claims that its Broadband Service Platform is the only system on the market to offer real competitive broadband TV services over DSL networks, and has already been chosen by operators.

Unique IP broadcasting solutions: The company is making IP broadcasting solutions possible with the introduction of a new, cost-effective and cohesive end-to-end system for internet delivery via digital TV networks. The solution is based on OpenStream, a multimedia multicast delivery system featured in a new unicast configuration. This allows access to high speed internet in satellite or terrestrial television networks either in DVB or ATSC environments.
