LG.Philips Displays has announced the introduction of the 34"
Real Flat cathode ray tube (CRT) colour picture tube in its new
state of the art manufacturing facilities in Gomez
Palacio, Mexico.
An official release informs that the company aims to leverage its
global manufacturing advantage, and commit to the fast-growing market
segments. The 34"RF CPT offers high definition and excellent
picture performance to fulfill the current US market needs.
The 34"RF CPT is the newest member of LG.Philips Displays'
Jumbo Product Line under the company's Cybertube+ product flagship.
It offers TV set makers cost effective, easy design-in and time-to-market
benefits. This product meets the growing market demand in the high
end and the mainstream TV set markets. It uses the unique rectangular
coil technology (low power deflection unit), and provides best picture
quality with exceptional brightness and contrast.
With more than 10 years' technology know-how and experience in
developing and manufacturing Real Flat products, LG.Philips Displays
34"RF CPT offers
design-in benefits for TV set makers and features cost effective
dynamic focus, 50Hz and 100Hz with features like Scan Velocity Modulation
(SVM). In addition, it offers low power consumption contributed
by the increase of 20 per cent deflection sensitivity, and improves
raster correction significantly due to the unique rectangular coil.
As a 4:3 TV standard, it is expected that the 34"RF will become
the dominant format in the Americas marketplace and the debut of
this new product will further boost the CRT products in the market.
According to industry figures, the worldwide growth of RF CPT's
in all market sizes enjoyed a 22 per cent penetration in 2002, and
expected to grow to 48 per cent by 2006. It is estimated that the
34"RF CPT's worldwide shipment will reach 3.6 million units
by 2006, where the Americas alone is predicted to grow to 1.6
million units -- accounting for over 44 per cent of the total worldwide
volume.
