Scopus, which supplies digital broadcast platforms, and Pixelmetrix
which claims to be the leader in Preventative Monitoring systems
for digital broadcasters, have received support and backing from
The Singapore Israel Industrial R&D Foundation (SIIRD) – for the
development of next generation broadcast management systems.
An official release informs that the alliance seeks to build on
Scopus’ extensive line of digital infrastructure products and Pixelmetrix’
expertise in optimising broadcast operations. The two companies
are developing a new set of broadcast management tools to allow
customers to better plan, install, operate, provision, maintain
and administer their equipment, networks and services. The new set
of broadcast management tools will reduce network maintenance and
operation costs.
The project leverages recent advances in measurement and monitoring
technology, implemented by Pixelmetrix, with the latest in network
management technology as developed by Scopus, to enhance network
and services operation as well as maintenance. The co-development
of new management tools will allow better fault detection and remote
monitoring. With the new tools, an operator will be able to monitor,
control and manage any change in content flow on any component of
the encoding - transmission chain, allowing significant savings
in system operational costs. New management tools will pave the
way to a first of its kind Service Level Agreement (SLA) between
the broadcaster and service provider. This will allow significant
savings in system operational costs, the release states.
