VectorMAX
Corporation has announced that it is offering its new VectorMAX
"Live" Streaming Video Encoder and Player at no charge when
users contract the company for distribution and bandwidth.
An official release informs that no royalties are required.
Unlimited streams are also available. This easy-to-use high-quality
encoding software allows individuals to stream live video
presentations over the Internet/Intranet on either a broadband
or narrowband basis.
A
number of players are also available free. These include
a Stand Alone Desktop Player, Netscape Plug-in, ActiveX
Plug-in, or Java Player.
Using
the VectorMAX "Live" Streaming Encoder individuals can broadcast
"live events" worldwide over the Internet using Unicast
or Multicast distribution methods. Bandwidths which are
available range from 32Kbps up to 1.5Mbps with window sizes
from 160x112 up to 320x240 which can be enlarged to full
screen sizes.
Frame rates available include 8 fps to 25 fps. Broadband
audio sampling rates are 44.1 kHz, 22.5 kHz, 11.25 kHz,
and 8 kHz. Narrowband audio is voice quality only.
This exciting new VectorMAX technology is software-based.
It simply requires the use of a USB Capture Device, or Webcam
and microphone, or a sound card and capture board on the
encoding computer. Playback is also software-based with
the use of the Company's Players the release states.
To distribute "Live" feeds over the Internet VectorMAX claims
to have developed a distribution network which features
the lowest price for bandwidth in the industry.
