DataDirect Networks has announced that Dayang Technology Development, China's premier provider of tape-less news production systems, has installed a Silicon Storage Appliance for Star TV. This will serve as the storage networking backbone to accelerate program acquisition, production and live broadcasting.

Not only will less time will be taken for a program to air, Star will also be able to use the appliance's unique virtualisation and parallelism thus enhancing the production environment.
