Houston
based SnapStream Media is previewing the next version of
its TV recording solution at this week's Intel Developer
Forum (IDF) in San Francisco.
The
company that claims to be a leading developer of digital
entertainment software since 1999, will release its Personal
Video Station (PVS) next month that will extend current
product abilities to include live TV viewing, CD support,
and full integration with SnapStream.NET. SnapStream.NET
is the company's own television program guide accessible
from any Internet connected server.
According
to an official release, SnapStream PVS, designed to record
television for access on home networks, PCs or Pocket PCs,
is a low-cost consumer entertainment application. SnapStream
allows users to record favourite television programs for
anywhere, anytime viewing on portable devices like laptops
or PDAs. In contrast to expensive, dedicated hardware devices,
SnapStream is an inexpensive add-on to the existing home
PC. It enables and embraces the connected home paradigm
by bringing television recordings to any network device
the release states.
SnapStream.NET
Services, scheduled for availability in March work with
SnapStream PVS to provide TV listings and access to SnapStream
Anywhere. The TV listings portion of SnapStream.NET make
it easy for a user to set-up intelligent recordings of their
favourite shows, regardless of the channel or timing of
broadcasts, says the release. Its built in features include
increased stability, maximum network bandwidth and storage
space, easy conversion and loading of digital files, and
native burn-to-CD capabilities.
