MTV
Networks is deploying the Plumtree Corporate Portal for
8,000 employees worldwide. The portal, called Rufus, is
driving a major initiative to streamline communications
and strengthen a sense of community across the regional
and international offices of all MTV Networks' divisions,
says a press release.
The portal is intended to bring together company news, travel
planning tools, job postings, commuter services, news- and
weather feeds, and workplace diversity resources previously
spread across several intranet sites, helping increase employee
satisfaction and build its corporate culture, the release
says.
Plumtree is the platform for MTV Networks' 1st Choice program,
an initiative to centralize employee communications and
facilitate collaboration between business divisions. The
Rufus portal indexes intranet and Internet content in a
searchable document directory and assembles support services
in group portal pages called communities.
According to Viacom's application development vice president
Stuart Lepkowsky,"The portal assembles timely, relevant
work and life resources for all our employees. With Plumtree,
we can provide local support to our national and international
offices, while still keeping the larger MTV Networks community
and mission within easy reach."
