California
headquartered Terayon Communication Systems which claims
to be a leading vendor of broadband solutions, is demonstrating
the advanced broadband capabilities of the DOCSIS(TM) 2.0
(Data Over Cable Service Interface Specification) specification
here at the Summer Conference of CableLabs, the cable television
industry's research and development consortium. The latest
version of the successful specification for broadband data-over-cable
equipment, DOCSIS 2.0 vastly increases upstream capacity
and noise resistance compared to earlier versions of the
specification. The CableLabs Summer Conference concludes
today in Colorado
The company's demonstration highlights DOCSIS 2.0's greater
noise resistance, allowing uninterrupted broadband voice,
data and video service despite extreme noise interference.
Terayon's demonstration utilises the company's complete
DOCSIS 2.0-based system, which is composed of the BW 3500
CMTS (Cable Modem Termination System) and the TJ line of
cable modems and TA family of eMTAs (embedded Multimedia
Terminal Adapters), both of which are controlled by the
BW 3500.
Terayon Communication Systems provides innovative broadband
systems and solutions for the delivery of advanced, carrier-class
voice, data and video services that are deployed by the
world's leading cable television operators and telecommunication
carriers.
