Music Choice, which claims to be the largest provider of
commercial-free digital music via cable and satellite, has
announced 'The new face of Music Choice'. This includes
45 enhanced music channels in eight million digital American
cable homes.
New
screens featuring album art, music news, artiste facts,
music history, new releases and TV screen ads now accompany
the selection of uninterrupted music. Music Choice now offers
the first full- time platform for interactivity on music
channels to US cable operators, says an official release.
Any operator with interactivity can take advantage
of the Music Choice offering that enables their customers
to shop for music and respond to promotions and advertisements
using their television remote control. The interactive TV
channels already exist in more than 3.5 million DirecTV
homes.
The
45 channels will showcase daily and weekly news items on
the current hot music, along with facts on artistes being
played on each channel. Additional new features include
the display of the album art and album title on the screen
for the song being played, along with up-to-date listings
of new CDs and details on important events in music history.
Channels include Rap, Metal, R&B Hits, Alternative Rock,
Country, Blues and Classic Rock.
In
addition, Music Choice can now deliver targetted promotional
and sponsorship opportunities for advertisers and labels.
These channels offer advertisers and music labels a vehicle
to reach an audience comparable in size to the largest cable
television networks. Advertisers can target their messages
to selected demographics, while music labels now have an
excellent venue to promote their artistes on genre-specific
channels.
