TDV
Technologies has announced a series of initiatives which
will give computer users a life-like 3D viewing experience.
PC owners can now explore space, cellular structure, human
anatomy, and profiles of famous people.
Through
a combination of proprietary software, TDV will enhance
ordinary 3D by adding depth information to the perspective,
according to an official release. The result is an immersive
experience where images are in 3D and appear to float in
space, inside and in front of the computer screen.
The world's largest online 3D Library for Education and
True 3D Experiences will launch on 18 April. the library,
3DWORLD.COM that cost over one million dollars to build
will preview thousands of still and 3D video images. The
library includes instruction, with additional content on
CD-ROM available to schools with quizzes and tutorials.
Users will need TDV 3D Viewing Glasses to deliver life-like
viewing experiences.
The
same day, the company will release its 2D to 3D video conversion
software, allowing existing digital content to be viewed
in 3D. The TDV system is designed to help broadcasters,
cable operators, and Webmasters deliver content "on-the-fly"
for 3D viewing using TDV 3D Viewing Glass System. This system
has been developed for three applications:
1)
Internet "on-the-fly" 2D to 3D display conversions
2) Broadcast TV and Cable programming in 3D
3) DVD or VHS formats viewable on TV or the PC in 3D
