Leitch
Technology Corporation has announced that it will provide
five Opus master control switchers to CNN International.
An official release informs that this is part of the news
channels ongoing upgrade to digital.
The release states that television stations wanting to ultimately
broadcast high definition television signals require a master
control switcher that can accommodate their requirements.
Leitch's Opus Master Control provided a complete, cost-effective
solution to meet CNN's complex needs.
Five systems were recently commissioned and are being used
on air today. The Opus is used together with the Leitch
Integrator router and Leitch VRs and provides a central
control over video routing and server playback.
Opus includes 8:4:4 video processing, which provides 2X
over-sampling of the video signal, and features eight channels
of audio at 24-bit resolution.
