week, AdEx India analyzes the advertising in Program Genres on
TV channels in the year 2006.

TV channels saw a rise of 38 per cent in count of programs from
nearly 32000 in the year 2005 to 45000 programs in the year 2006.

5 Program Genres on TV channels in the year 2006.
2006
saw a mix of different program genres in the Top five list.
News
Bulletin genre accounted for the maximum 18 per cent share of
ad volumes closely followed by Feature Films with 16 per cent
share on TV in the year 2006.
Music
Shows/songs genre stood at 3rd position with 9% share whereas
Drama/soap was at the 4th position.
Growth
of advertising in Top five Program Genres in year 2006 over 2005.
All
the Top five Program Genres saw rise in ad volumes in 2006, with
huge 90 per cent increase registered in ad volumes of Film Songs
compared to the previous year.
