Internet Portals Advertising on TV during the first half of 2006

  • Nearly double the volume of Internet Portal advertising in January - June 2006 over January - June 2005
  • 'Recruitment' Portals garnered the highest 31 per cent share in overall Internet Portal advertising in the first half of 2006
  • Recruitment Portals had a high share of advertising on GEC while Finance and Travel Tourism Portals advertised more on Business and News channels
  • 'www.Monsterindia.com' topped advertising in Recruitment Portals during Jan-June 06
  • High share of advertising by Recruitment, Finance and Travel Tourism Portals in English language channels
  • Prime time saw the highest advertising by Recruitment Portals in Jan-June 06

Growth in Internet Portals advertising on TV across the first halves in 2004-2006

  • 2 times growth in 'Internet Portals' advertising in the first half of 2006 over the first half of 2005
  • January-June 2005 saw a 13 per cent rise in Internet Portals compared to first half of its previous year 2004

Share of sub-categories of 'Internet Portals' on TV in the first half of 2006

  • 'Recruitment' Portals contributed the highest 31 per cent share followed by 'General' type of Portals
  • Recruitment, General, Finance and Travel Tourism contributed 88 per cent share in overall Internet Portal advertising in the first half of 2006
  • Finance Portals could also grab 20 per cent share in the first half of 2006

  • Highest share of advertising by 'Recruitment' Portals in GEC genre in the first half of 2006
  • 'Finance and General' Portals used more advertising in Business channels

Top Brands in Top 4 types of Portals on TV in Jan-June 2006

 
  • 'www.Monsterindia.com' topped advertising in Recruitment Portals while 'www.Poweryourtrade' was on Top in Finance Portals in the first half of 2006
  • Travel Tourism Portals saw highest advertising share by 'www.ndtvtravels.com' whereas 'www.Commoditiescontrol.com' on Top in General type of Portals

TV Channel Language preferred by Top 4 types of Internet Portals in the first half of 2006

 
 
  • Recruitment, Finance and Travel Tourism Portals used high share of advertising in English language channels during January-June 06
  • General Portals used nearly equal share of advertising in Hindi and English language channels
  • Less usage of Regional channels by 'Internet Portals' in January-June 2006

Time bands preferred by Top 4 Portals on TV in the first half of 2006

 
 
  • Recruitment Portals used highest share of advertising during the Prime time i.e. '21:00-23:59' hrs
  • Other 3 types of Portals i.e. General, Finance and Travel Tourism used more ads during the afternoon time band

New Internet Portals advertised on TV in January-June 2006 compared to previous three years

 
 
  • Top New entrant 'www.ndtvtravels.com' of Travel Tourism Portal in the first half of 2006
  • Second Top new entrant is 'www.SunsilkGangofgirls.com'

Share of Commercial and Tag Promo advertising by Internet Portals in January-June 2006

 
 
  • First half of 2006 saw 13 per cent share of Tag Promo advertising by Internet Portals while 87 per cent share of Commercial advertising
  • 27 per cent share of Tag Promo advertising by Portals during the first half of 2005

Internet Portal brands advertised on-screen in Cricket matches played by India during Jan-June 2006

 
 
  • Only seven Portal brands advertised on-screen during the Cricket matches in the first half of 2006
  • 'www.makemytrip.com' advertised in two of the matches in which India had played i.e. Hutch Cup as well as in TVS Cup
