Channel Promotions – Part 2

  • Channel Content Promotions formed 88% share of Overall Promotional activities on TV in Jan – Jun ’06
  • Program Promotions contribute to 75% of channel content promotions during the 1st half of 2006
  • Volumes of Program Promotion got a push of 21% in Jan –Jun ’06 over Jan –June ‘05
  • 40% of Program Promotions were on GEC channel during the 1st half of 2006
  • Zee TV Network ranked as a top Broadcaster with 16% share of Program Promotions aired in 1st half of 2006
  • The ‘24:00 – 05:59’ Time band received a 29% share during Jan –June ‘06

Before we begin Part II analysis on the trends of TV Program Promotion in the first half of 2006, let’s refresh the findings from the previous analysis

  • Promotions formed more than 55% of Total Ad Volumes on TV in the 1st half of 2006
  • 33% more ad volumes of Promotions in first half of 2006 compared to first half of 2005
  • HLL tops promotion of Brand in Jan-June 2006
  • High share of Brand Promotion volumes on GEC genre

  • Interestingly, 18:00 – 23:59 has the lowest volumes of program promotions among all time bands.
