Two-wheelers advt spends in TV dipped 2% in 2005

This week, AdEx India looks at the 'Two-wheelers' category. Let's look at the growth in advertising spends in Two-wheelers category across the years 2001-05.

 
 
  • Two-wheelers advertising spends dipped by two per cent in 2005 compared to that of 2004
  • Maximum growth in Two-wheelers advertising observed in 2001 (107 per cent) as compared to 2000

We divided all the ads of the 'Two-wheelers' category into five sub-categories; viz Bikes, Scooters, Scooterettes, Mopeds and Range; based on their type. (Specifically, 'Range' ads are the kind of ads in which a range of Two-wheelers are advertised). Further we analyzed the share of each of these sub-categories in the entire pie of the 'Two-wheelers' category. And the results were as follows:

 
 
  • Bikes are way ahead of other kinds of Two-wheelers with a 83 per cent share

Let's look at the Top Two-wheelers brands advertised on TV in the year 2005.

 
 
  • Top 10 Two wheelers brands constitute 64 per cent of the Two wheelers advertising revenue
  • Bajaj Discover DTS-i, TVS Scooty Pep and TVS Star tops Two wheelers advertising on Television
