Cars/jeeps advt on TV rises by 50%

Key Findings:

  • 50% rise in TV advertising in Q1 '05 compared to Q1 '04
  • 2002, the only year to show de-growth across 2001-04
  • Maruti Udyog Ltd., the top advertiser in Q1 '05
  • Hindi Mass Channels favored by advertisers

Last week, we had the analysis on 'Two Wheelers'. This week, AdEx India looks at the 2nd segment 'Cars/ Jeeps' in the Auto Sector. Below is the growth of advertising on TV in the 1st quarter of 2005 as compared to that of 2004.

 
 
  • 50% up in advertising in Q1 '05 compared to Q1 '04

Below is the growth of 'Cars/Jeeps' advertising on TV across the years 2001-04

 
 
  • Highest growth seen in 2003 (54%) followed by 43% growth in 2004
  • De-growth observed in 2002 (-2%) across the last 4 years

The table below shows the Advertisers on TV, in the 1st quarter of 2005

 
 
  • 'Maruti Udyog Ltd' - the top advertiser in the 1st quarter of 2005
  • 'Tata Motors Ltd' gets the second position.

Let's also analyze the TV Channel genres preferred by the advertisers in the 1st quarter of 2005.

 
 
  • Hindi Mass Channel the most preferred ones
  • News Channels at second position
