TV advertising in Cars & Jeeps category up 16% in first half of 2004 over same period in 2003

This week, AdEx India looks at the Automobiles sector - specifically the Cars & Jeeps category. First, let's have a look at the trend of TV advertising in the Cars & Jeeps category in the first half of year 2004 compared to the first half of year 2003.

 
 

Here, Cars & Jeeps Advertising - in the first half of 2004, shows a rise of nearly 16% compared to the first half of year 2003.

Now, let's look at the trend of advertising in this category in the year 2003 compared to the year 2002.

 
 

We see that Advertising shows a rise of 30% in year 2003 compared to year 2002. The graph shows the indexed spends of the Cars & Jeeps category on Television Advertising since 2002.

Advertising in the Cars & Jeeps category is expected to be quite seasonal. Let's check out whether that's actually the case.

 
 

The graph shows that Cars & Jeeps advertising spends on Television vary in all the four Quarters across the years 2000-2003.

Let's look at the Advertisers - who dominate this category. The graph shows that Maruti Udyog Ltd tops the Advertiser's' list with nearly 29% of the advertising pie. Tata Motors Ltd grabs the 2nd position with 19% closely followed by Mahindra & Mahindra with 16% of the advertising share. Hyundai Motor India gained the 4th position whereas other advertisers are General Motors India Ltd., Toyota Kirloskar Motor Ltd., Fiat India Automobiles Ltd., Ford India Ltd. and Hindustan Motors Ltd.
