Colour Television Advertising on TV dips by 21% in H1 of 2004 compared to 2003

Last week, we had a look on the Two Wheelers category. This week, AdEx India looks at Colour Television. First, let's have a look at the trend of advertising in the Colour Television category in the first half of year 2004 compared to the same of year 2003 on television.

 
 

Here, Colour Television advertising shows a dip of nearly 21per cent on television in the first half of year 2004 compared to the first half of 2003.

Now, let's look at the trend of advertising in the Colour Television category in TV in the year 2003 compared to the last year.

 
 

Here, we see that Colour Television advertising on TV shows a rise of nearly 58 per cent in the year 2003 compared to the year 2002. The graph shows the indexed spends of the Colour Television category in TV advertising since 2002.

Advertising in the Colour Television category is expected to be quite seasonal. Let's check out whether that's actually the case.

 
 

The graph shows that Colour Television Advertising spends in TV shows a growth in the fourth quarter across the years (2000-2003).

Let's look at the top advertisers - which dominate this category in TV.

 
 

The graph shows that Samsung India Electronics Ltd. tops with 21.3 per cent share of the advertising pie in TV. Mirc Electronics grabs the 2nd position with 19.4 per cent share, whereas, Sansui India gets the 3rd position with 14.6 per cent of the advertising share. Other advertisers who could make up to the Top 10 are LG Electronics India Ltd., Videocon Industries Ltd. among others.
