Cellular Phones category ads on TV during Jan- Jun 2011 (H1 2011)

Highlights:

  • A rise of 32 per cent was seen in the TV advertising for 'Cellular Phones' category during Jan - Jun 2011 Vs Jan - Jun 2010
  • 1/4th of the total TV ad pie for 'Cellular Phones' category was captured by the top advertiser i.e. 'Nokia Corporation'
  • TV ad volume by top 10 brands collectively added up to 32 per cent of the overall TV advertising done for the category during H1 2011
  • 4 out of top 10 brands belonged to the advertiser - 'Nokia Corporation'.
  • TV advertising done in Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal summed up to 35 per cent of the total TV advertising for 'Cellular Phones' category
 
  • TV Advertising volume of 'Cellular Phones' category witnessed 32 per cent hike during H1 2011 vis-à-vis H1 2011
 
  • 'Nokia Corporation' ruled the list of advertisers with 25 per cent share of the total category TV Ad pie
  • "The ad volume shares by top 3 advertisers - 'Nokia Corporation', 'Samsung India Electronics Ltd' and 'Micromax Informatics Ltd' added up to 46 per cent of the total TV advertising pie
 
  • 'Nokia C1-01', 'MTS Pulse' and 'Nokia X2 01- Airtel' occupied the first 3 positions amongst top advertised brands
  • 4 out of top 10 brands belonged to the advertiser - 'Nokia Corporation'
 
  • TV Channels from the National zone dominated TV advertising for the category with 63 per cent of the share leaving Regional Channels with 37 per cent of the pie
  • Television channels from South Zone with 18 per centof the share followed TV channels with National reach which captured a share of 63 per cent
 
  • Andhra Pradesh and West Bengal with 18 per cent and 17 per cent shares respectively were the states where maximum TV advertising was done for 'Cellular Phones' category
  • Hindi with 37 per cent of the share led the list of preferred languages by advertisers
