Highlights:

  • Retail advertising witnessed 41 per cent growth in TV Ad volumes in 2010 compared to 2009.
  • Independent retailers contributed to 87 per cent of overall retail advertising.
  • Top 10 advertisers of retail contributed to 40 per cent of overall category advertising.
  • The top 10 list of advertisers' list was dominated by advertisers from south market.
  • Tamil, Malayalam and Telugu were the most preferred language channels for retail advertising.
 
  • Retail advertising on TV witnessed a jump of 41 per cent during Jan - Dec 2010 compared to Jan - Dec 2009.
 
 
  • Independent retailers accounted for 87 per cent of overall category advertising pie in 2010.
 
 
  • The majority of the top 10 advertisers come from Tamil Nadu and Kerala.
  • The top advertisers contributed to the 40 per cent of overall all category advertising in 2010.
 
  • Regional were the most preferred channels for retail advertising during 2010.
  • Tamil Nadu topped the list of state that got maximum advertising of 45 per cent in comparison with other states.
 
  • From language perspective, Tamil topped the list of Retail Advertising on TV with 41 per cent.
