Overview of cellular phone service advertising on TV during H1'2010

  • Bharti Airtel Ltd with 22 per cent share was the top advertiser of cellular phone service on TV followed by Idea Cellular Ltd and Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd with 18 per cent and 15 per cent share respectively during H1 '2010.
  • Top 10 advertisers share aggregates to 98 per cent of overall advertising share of cellular phone service on TV during H1 '2010.

  • Idea Oongli Cricket, MTS Mobile Internet and Airtel HTC Smart were the top three new brands of cellular phone service advertised on TV during H1 '2010.
Top Celebrity endorsing cellular phone service brands on TV
  • During H1 '2010, Sharman Joshi had the maximum share i.e. 31 per cent of overall celebrity endorsements share of cellular phone service on TV followed by Abhishek Bachchan and Deepika Padukone with 26 per cent and 18 per cent share respectively.

Contribution of national vs. regional channels in advertising of cellular phone service

  • Advertising of cellular phone service on national and regional channels was in the ratio of 56:44 during H1 '2010.
  • Tamil Nadu had the highest share i.e. 26 per cent of overall advertising share of cellular phone service on regional channels followed by Andhra Pradesh and Kerala with 16 per cent and 13 per cent share respectively during H1 '2010.
