Sensex up 60.11points

Media scrips ends in the positive turf

	MUMBAI: The 30-share Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) Sensitive index (Sensex) ended with a gain of 60.11 points at 5,605.93, from the previous closing of 5,545.82. The National Stock Exchange (NSE) S & P CNX Nifty index shed 4.85 points by the end of the day at 1,750.20, from its previous close of 1,728.80. The undertone of the market remained optimistic on the back of sustained inflow of foreign funds. With a fall in the domestic inflation rate sliding below eight per cent level to 7.81 per cent for the week ended 4 September, compared with 8.33 per cent to its three and a half year high in the previous week also helped the sentiment on D-Street. On the media sector seven media scrips slipped and 18 media scrips climbed up on the BSE. Media major Zee Telefilms closed the day at Rs 145.25, down 3.49 per cent, from its previous closing of Rs Rs 153.80. Galaxy Entertainment fell 7.13 per cent to Rs 28.

TV Eighteen ticked a loss of 0.67 per cent at Rs 155. Sandesh Ltd made a small loss of 0.91 per cent to Rs 98.20. Pritish Nandy Communications posted a loss of 0.58 per cent to Rs 85.10.

Pentamedia closed the day at Rs 4.29, down with 2.50 per cent. K Sera Sera made a negligible loss of 0.63 per cent.

TV Today (day closing;Rs 107.60) Balaji Telefilms (day closing;Rs 94.20), Mid-day Multimedia (day closing; Rs 27.00), Hinduja TMT (day closing Rs 267.65) and NDTV Ltd (day closing; Rs 92.15) closed the day with a small gains.

Gemini Communications (day closing; Rs 26.35), Cinevistaas (day closing;Rs 33.15), Adlabs Films (day closing;Rs 92.05) and Mukta Arts (day closing;Rs 60.55) posted gains over 1 per cent
