It
might be the 'intellectual' kindaa channel, but
man, do they know how to host a party. Of course,
I am talking about the Discovery India's party held
at Velocity last week to celebrate its success in
2002.
For
starters, there was absolutely no page three crowd.
And no 'dahlings', no fancy dress competition either,
but with the 'rock'-solid crowd of 250 media and
advertising types grooving to music.
With
likes of Starcom's Madan Mohan Mahopatra, Euro RSCG's
Jeff Crasto, Fulcrum's Anita Karnik, Sunder Raman
and Venkat Phani, Coke's Avinash Pant HLL's Mohammed
Amin Om Kotak's Rahin Lahiri and Prudential ICICI's
Ambrish Murthy grooving to beat, looks like Discovery
may soon be cornered to host few more.
Besides
the music and the food, there were games too. Well,
not of those kinds silly! Discovery gave away some
cool DVD players, Esprit watches, digital cameras
to the lucky party animals from the media. Others
were not complaining though, the party hosted by
the channel to celebrate its last year's success
was a success itself.
Psst:
Somebody from indiantelevision did attend the party
and boogied till late, but even as he got out of
the place (which was quite late) there were people
pouring into the venue. Quite a party I must say!
