While
most news anchors in television today are women, it
comes as no surprise that from the head of the channel
- Vandana Malik to most of its anchors; CNBC TV 18
has a host of determined women who are trying to make
a difference.

| Vandana
Malik - The force behind the CNBC TV 18 team! |
While
the channel is a tribute to India's growing importance
on the international business radar, it's women power
that has been instrumental in giving the channel a
face in the industry. Malik was among the core team
that split from Business India Television to form
an independent television software company almost
a decade ago. She single-handedly ran the Mumbai bureau
of TV18 where she played the multi-faceted role as
the bureau head, producer, reporter and host all rolled
in one!
When
TV18 tied up with CNBC, Malik devised new shows and
explored genres to keep a diverse audience engaged.
TV18 also set up a new division called 18 Entertainment
where she donned the managing director's hat.
The
business channel has now carved a strong niche that
is growing every day, fuelled by a growing corporate
and business culture and the burgeoning community
of active investors. The team has put in an effort
to make it a channel where the viewer comes with a
purpose. The channel is unique in terms of viewer
profile, ambiance and nature of viewing. And its success
lies in the unchanged faces, its anchors!

| Anuradha
Sengupta - What's her story? |
Women
rule the roost at CNBC as far as the core team of

women out to make an impression are the nucleus of
this organisation. The most well known faces on the
channel are Anuradha Sengupta who anchors Storyboard,
Renuka Kirpalani, ace navigator and rallyist who hosts
the Auto Show, Shereen Bhan, Mini Menon, Menaka
Doshi and Gaurika Chaudhari.

as no surprise that she topped the University masters

Bhan
started her career with UTV as an associate producer
in the news and current affairs division and has worked
with Karan Thapar producing shows like Hard Talk
India and Face to Face for the BBC, We
the People for Star and Line of Fire for

2000 and since then there has been no looking back
for her. Bhan has been anchoring and producing bulletins,
special shows on golf and managing events oraganised

Another
name to contend with in the team is Gaurika Chaudhari.

holds a degree in English Literature from the Delhi
University. Chaudhari studied social communications
- media at the BK Somani Polytechnic, Sophia College
in Mumbai. Her career in television started in 1994
in the area of infotainment when she joined TV18 as
