USPGA AT&T NATIONAL Live on Ten Sports

 

MUMBAI: World number 1 Tiger Woods, newly crowned U.S. Open champion Lucas Glover and defending champion Anthony Kim feature in a star-filled field at the AT&T National, a USPGA event. The first day of the event tees off on the 2nd of July and in India it will be shown live on Ten Sports post mid night 3rd of July.

Woods, the top-ranked player in the world, will welcome 119 of the world’s best golfers to the Blue Course at the Congressional Country Club in Bethesda, Washington for the $6 million event supported by the Tiger Woods Foundation.

In addition to 14-time major winner Woods, top 25 players set to take on at the Congressional are Paul Casey, three-time major winner Vijay Singh, former U.S. Open champion Jim Furyk, Sean O’Hair, Lucas Glover and former Masters champion Mike Weir.

Defending champion Anthony Kim who had won the competition with a record twelve under round of 268 will also be in action. Kim has had just two top ten finishes this year and will be eager to touch form here.

The AT&T National playing field is flush with players at the top of their games, each competing for the winner’s cheque of $1.08 million.

Tiger Woods leads the way among players who have already been victorious in tournaments this year. Woods has won at Bay Hill and the Memorial, Casey won the Shell Houston Open, O’Hair won the Quail Hollow Championship, Pat Perez won the Bob Hope Classic, Nick Watney won the Buick Invitational and Mark Wilson won the Mayakoba Golf Classic.

The newest tournament winner in the field is 29-year-old American Lucas Glover, who won his first major title by winning the U.S. Open in dramatic fashion.

The three-year-old AT&T National, among the strongest tournaments on the PGA Tour schedule, occupies an important position in the Fed Ex Cup series.
