Australia will be thirsting for revenge when they take on hosts South Africa in
a five-match One Day International series, and the entire enthralling contest
between the top two ODI teams in the world will be live and exclusive on Ten Sports,
the most watched sports channel in the Sub-continent. The
ODI series forms a thrilling finale to a super summer featuring the two teams,
who played against each other in both countries for a total of six Test matches,
10 ODIs and four Twenty20s. Australia
were humbled 2-1 in the Test series at home, but bounced back to win the Test
series by the same margin in South Africa. And now, it will be an opportunity
for Ricky Ponting’s men to get even in the ODI series as well. They had earlier
suffered an embarrassing 4-1 loss at home. A series win by Australia will restore
the ODI crown on their head as far as the No1 team in the world is concerned.
Three
of the five matches will be played under lights, including the series opener on
Friday, April 3. The other four matches are on April 5, 9, 13 and 17.
All the matches
will be preceded by a half-hour preview programme. The two day matches will start
at 1:30 pm IST, while the day-night matches will start at 6:00 pm IST.
South Africa
will be boosted by their fine win in the Twenty20 series, which they won 2-0,
as also by the return of skipper Graeme Smith, who was out with a broken hand.
Also back will be their star all-rounder, Jacques Kallis, who missed the T20 with
