MUMBAI:
Duncans Tea Limited (DTL) has announced a distribution tie up with
IRCTC (catering division of Indian Railways) to serve Double Diamond
tea bags to all passengers traveling on select routes in the country.
Through
this tie-up, DTL aims to tap the "huge market potential"
provided by the Indian Railways. To start with, DTL will be supplying
Double Diamond Tea bags to Indian railways.
DTL has also adopted some new marketing strategies with their tie-ups
with Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum
Corporation Limited (HPCL). DTL tea packets will now be available
with the LPG suppliers when they go to deliver the LPG cylinders
to customers.
In
an endeavor to explore other distribution channels, DTL has also
entered into a tie-up with CSD canteens of the Indian Army to cater
to the armed forces even at remote locations.
It
has also launched the tea brand "Sargam" in the Army CSD
canteens at a lower price with the purpose of "catering quality
tea to the custodians of the nation". DTL has tied up with
Central Police canteen, which is a new setup to cater to the other
branches of the armed forces.
Speaking
on the occasion, Duncans Tea Ltd COO M. C. Appaiah said, "We
are proud to be associated with these leading organisations and
are actively exploring several alternative and innovative channels
of distributions. These distribution tie-ups will help us reach
out to all sections across the country."
