Shemaroo’s Films honoured at the National Film Awards

 

MUMBAI: It has indeed been a proud moment for Shemaroo Entertainment, to see our films ‘Omkara’ and ‘Anuranan’ being awarded at the 54th National Film Awards held in New Delhi.

The critically acclaimed award-winning box-office hit ‘Omkara’ is a Shemaroo Entertainment Presentation. Director Vishal Bharadwaj won the jury's award for ‘The Best Director’ for Omkara and Konkona Sen Sharma won ‘The Best Supporting Actress’ for Omkara.

The new wave of Bengali Cinema ‘Anuranan’ was presented by Shemaroo Entertainment and Screenplay Films with Rahul Bose, Rituparna Sengupta, Raima Sen and Rajat Kapoor playing the lead cast. ‘Anuranan’ won ‘The Best Bengali Film’ award.

The President of India gives away the National Film Awards, followed by the inauguration of the National Film Festival, where all the award-winning films are screened for the public. Every year a national panel appointed by the government selects the winning entry.
