CNBC-TV 18’s Young Turks goes global

 

MUMBAI: Global growth is increasingly being led by a breed of young, enterprising leaders across business, politics, art and entertainment. Whether it's the political canvass, well symbolized by the ilk of Barack Obama and Rahul Gandhi or international business leaders like the dot com billionaires or cultural icons such as Bono, the list is truly endless. This is more true of a predominantly young nation such as India, where its favorable demographic dividend, has led to many youth icons dominating the popular landscape across the spectrum.

Young Turks is one of Indian television's iconic show brands, which has featured acclaimed young Indian achievers through the years and other upcoming young professionals with a strong Indian connection. After engaging with young spirited leaders across India, this show is now paving the way for global young achievers to be featured as part of its special extension, YOUNG TURKS INTERNATIONAL.

Young Turks International will be hosted by acclaimed Anchor, Delhi Bureau Chief and Associate Editor of Current & Political Affairs at CNBC-TV18, Shereen Bhan. The series will showcase young achievers, either of Indian descent or having a strong India connection, revealing the secrets behind their success and their journey to a global success. Young Turks International will begin its journey from London and will later visit global business hubs such as Singapore, New York and San Francisco. It launches July 3rd and will air on Thursday 6:30 P.M, Saturday 2:00 P.M and Sunday 12:00 P.M.

The show will debut with globally acclaimed entrepreneur and billionaire poster boy, Aditya Mittal - CFO, Arcelor-Mittal. Subsequently, the series will showcase Viswas Raghavan- Head of Equity International Capital Markets, JP Morgan Chase, Arjun Chaterji- MD, Play Me TV, Abha Thorat- COO, UK India Business Council, Rajeev Suri- Marketing Head, Infosys, Vandana Saxena Poria- CEO, Get Through Guides, Anjum Anand- Celebrity Chef and Writer, David Adam- Head of Emerging Markets, London Development Agency & Mark Prescott- Head of Cultural Campaigns, Greater London Authority , Lucian Tarnowski- CEO, Brave New Enterprises and Alex Von Tunzelmann- Writer and Historian.

The first episode of Young Turks International will feature enigmatic Aditya Mittal, CFO of Arcelor Mittal, the world's largest steel firm. He joined Mittal steel in 1997 and heads various finance and management roles within Mittal Steel. He was appointed Head of Mergers and Acquisitions for Mittal Steel in 1999. In this role, he led Mittal Steel's acquisition strategy, resulting in Mittal Steel's expansion into Central Europe, Africa and, most recently, the United States.
