MUMBAI:
Amrita TV dance talent hunt for kids in the 10-15 age group reached
its climax on Feb 24,2008 when the four finalists competed in a
three-hour Live telecast programme and Anna (11) was declared "Pepsodent
Super Dancer Junior" bagging the First Prize of Rs 5 lakhs
which was given away by leading actress Roma .Anna is a student
of Choice School,Cochin
The
second prize of Rs 3 lakhs went to Sheha(11), while the third and
fourth prizes were won by Shradha(10) and Nayana(11)
Performing
in front of an invited 2000-strong audience in Trivandrum ,the kids
who had made it to the final of "Super Dancer Junior"
after dancing through 160 episodes of the programme which started
in Sept.2007(daily 7 pm),got a standing ovation for their dancing
skills and temparament, despite their tender age
Among
the audience were noted personalities from the world of films,television,choreography
including clients,agencies ,media-- and school children who came
in large numbers.
Prizes,mementos
and gifts were given away by top officials of sponsoring companies
like Regional Manager ,Amway, Chairman VKC Slipons,and MD ,Shantimadom
Builders. including State Cabinet Minister Mr G.Sudhakaran.
In
the 7 pm slot on the heels of "Super Dancer Junior",from
Feb 25 ,Amrita TV is telecasting for the first time in Malayalam,
the evergreen classic,"Malgudi Days" of R.K .Narayan (Mon
-Fri 7 pm).
