MUMBAI:
Online portal Rediff.com has launched the Web-in-mail
service, wherein users can access the internet using email clients
like MS Outlook, Outlook Express and Thunderbird.
According
to Rediff, the web-in-mail service can be achieved in
two steps:
- Sending
an email to browse@webinmail.com with the URL (internet address)
of the webpage which the user wants to access in the subject line.
- A
prompt reply is received with the webpage in the users inbox.
Clicking a hyperlink within the webpage received, automatically
composes another mail. On sending this mail, another reply mail
is received with a new webpage.
Rediff.com
CTO Venki Nishtala says, Web-in-mail will let people, with
restricted internet access, to now access internet content."
This
service, in its beta version, aims to help users to search the internet
wherein users need to send their search query in the subject line
and the result mail will be received via email.
